Many people eat fish, but if plastic litter gets into the ocean, the fish eat the plastic and we eat the fish along with the plastic! One way to help is to use more re-usable plastic like cups and bags, and avoid plastic-sealed products!

I once had a sad walk home from school. I left the grounds and crossed the bridge, and in the pond I saw all kinds of different substances in it. I saw a dead fish floating around in a puddle of oil. I cheered up  when people came over and began to treat the water. I felt bad for the fish that died drinking the oil .
That day I went  on the internet and found pictures of fish and other animals that drowned because of plastic and oil spills. I also took a walk around the neighbor hood and began collecting plastic trash out of the water and everywhere else where I could reach it. People really should not dump their waste wherever they are!! It’s so rude and it kills animals!

Hello, Friends of the Earth!!

I once saw a man toss his milky way plastic wrapper on the ground as if it were no big deal. I gave him an intense glare, but I do not think that he even noticed it. Later on that day I found out what it caused: It began to rain, and the plastic wrapper was washed into a storm drain by the rain, then it ended up in the ocean, and it caused a penguin to die after it ate it. An couple hours after I heard about this I went out for another walk and I saw another plastic wrapper on the side of the road! To avoid letting this scenario happen again I picked it up and threw it away in the trash.

This scenario has been repeated millions of times. Unfortunately a lot of litter that ends up in the ocean form into what is called a enormous  plastic island, and two are almost as big as Texas! It may seem like it is not a big deal but it is, it can do so much damage to the world and to ourselves!
